The indoor pool season is just around the corner.
The city of Nuremberg has now announced far-reaching energy-saving measures that affect the municipal swimming pools.
Nuremberg – More and more city administrations are resorting to energy-saving measures in winter and are having working and project groups discuss further options.
Nuremberg has now nailed it: the temperature in the city's indoor swimming pools is to be lowered, thereby saving 25 percent of the energy.
Start of the indoor pool season: Nuremberg lowers pool temperatures
The temperature in the pools of the four Nuremberg indoor pools is to be reduced by two degrees to around 26 degrees Celsius.
In the non-swimmer pools, the new temperature should be 28 degrees.
According to a statement from the city administration, the air temperature should also be 30 degrees in the future.
The temperature is not changed in the toddler pools.
In addition to the drop in temperature, the warm bathing days are to be omitted this year.
According to the city administration, a slide in the Nordostbad will also remain closed in winter.

Energy-saving measures in Nuremberg: Consequences of the energy crisis
The slide in the Südstadtbad, on the other hand, will remain in operation, it is insulated.
There will also be restrictions in the sauna operation, but in principle their operation will be maintained - according to the plan.
The indoor pool season starts in Nuremberg on Monday, September 26th.
The outdoor pools were then closed.
With the temperature drops, the city wants to react to the soaring energy prices and follow the government's route to saving valuable gas.
