Florian Schardt is going into the race and will lead the SPD in the state election campaign in the district of Munich-Land Nord.

As the successor to Annette Ganssmüller-Maluche, the SPD subdistrict chairman Florian Schardt, 40, is the only candidate and is elected with a total of 93 percent of the delegate votes.

He feels comfortable on stage and passionately squeezes various political matters of the heart into his short speech: As an economist and consultant, he comes from the business world himself and knows how important integration, education and social housing are for the free market.

The acute shortage of skilled workers is also a product of poor political decisions in recent years.

“We need a strong economy for a strong welfare state,” says Schardt.

On the topic of energy supply, he would like to campaign in the state parliament for the supply to be organized on a smaller scale and for municipalities to play a greater role again.

"Better small suppliers than Shell or Gazprom," he proclaims with skilful rhetoric.

Politics need "more courage and less opinion", "substance instead of show", "balance instead of division" - "instead of complaining, it is important to work together in the federal government", Schardt shoots in the direction of the CSU.

Florian Schardt's main point of criticism this morning: the Christian-social approach to Südlink, the route that was supposed to bring wind energy from northern Germany to the south.

Hubert Aiwanger, Horst Seehofer and Markus Söder had blocked the project – which is one of the reasons why Bavaria lacks electricity from the north today.

For Schardt, Südlink is an example of “politics based on mood”.

Instead of real alternatives, the CSU is clinging to prestige campaigns such as hydrogen-powered buses.

However, hydrogen is “not an alternative to the power line, but a supplement”.

The element is too valuable to be used as a widespread fuel.

She wants to focus on education and care.

The district assembly is exactly the right place for this, “Bavaria’s social parliament, so to speak,” says Schmierl.
