2022-09-19T05:13:55.732Z

Who said to whom: "The claims of the contractors are the cry of the dispossessed Cossack, while the public is the one who is hurt. This is swine" • Or alternatively, "The Minister of Housing is the most failed in Israel's history. I hope he will finish his job soon" • Now the apology has been made

After tensions of several months, the Minister of Housing and Construction, Ze'ev Elkin, and the President of the Association of Haaretz Builders, Raul Sargo, met at the conference of the Association of Renovation Contractors in the Dead Sea.

Through the mediation of Eran Siev, chairman of the Renovation Contractors Association, and with a handshake, they ended the rivalry and mutual slander while promising cooperation.

Minister Elkin added: "The Ministry of Housing will invest in Israeli personnel through the academy, the academy is a critical project for the real estate industry."

This is a conference to mark the 21st anniversary of the establishment of the Renovation Contractors Association that was held this weekend, led by Eran Siev, chairman of the Renovation Contractors Association. A number of senior officials from the industry - ministers, members of the Knesset, media and cultural figures - were hosted at the Daniel Hotel in the Dead Sea. Among the guests at the conference was Deputy Minister Economy and Industry, Yair Golan, Chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Alex Kushnir, President of the Association of Haaretz Builders Contractors, Raul Sargo, Chairman of the Construction Workers' Union and Related Industries, Yitzhak Moyal, former Director General of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Academy projector, Hagai Reznik and many other good ones from the industry.

Sargo referred to the renovation industry and its decisiveness in the war on lowering housing prices: "The renovation industry can be one of the causes of housing prices falling. It is possible and necessary to think of creative solutions with the government."

Sargo also added that: "There are quite a few housing developers in Israel, and we need to think about how in the future we will add small apartments to the market, so that where an apartment buyer will move once every few years, he can actually take advantage of the remaining building rights and enlarge his apartment."

Eran Siev, chairman of the Association of Renovation Contractors, called on the following governments to continue supporting the next stages of the Academy for the Construction and Infrastructure Professions for the future of the industry: "I have every hope that the real need that has arisen from the field regarding the lack of working hands, will be resolved thanks to the Academy and thanks to the next governments, who are already seeing the demand Hadir, and I hope that they know how to take part together with us in order to solve the major problem of workers in the industry."

The other main issue that came up at the conference is the issue of safety at work in the real estate industry, where every week news is published about visitors, injured and dead at the various sites. Senior officials of the industry and the government addressed the issue and even called for innovations and government intervention.

Yitzhak Moyal, chairman of the Histadrut of Construction and Industrial Workers, pointed a finger of blame at the government:

"The real estate industry needs to be taken care of. The hot apple of safety has rolled into our doors because the state is not doing enough. What is the fault of a contractor who hires workers who are entitled to them by law and then do not give them Let him train them. In the end, what happens? The worker climbs the scaffolding and dies. It's time for the state to give money to let us train working hands."

He was joined

by MK Yair Golan, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, and called for the addition of technologies to the industry that would contribute to safety:

"The issue of safety at work should be at the forefront of our attention.

The time has come for a country like ours to know how to adopt to the construction and renovation industry technologies that will contribute to safety in the industry."
