The doors of Westminster Abbey opened at 9 a.m., and already for hours London had been buzzing with the final preparations.


It's D-Day. Eleven days after the death, at 96, of Queen Elizabeth II, a historic ceremony is being held this Monday in London for her funeral.

Almost never has a monarch reigned for so long - 70 years - spanning the great metamorphoses of our contemporary societies.

His funeral, prepared for three decades, is broadcast around the world.
