BRUSSELS, SEPTEMBER 19 - Two legal actions are underway against the EU classification of gas and nuclear as sustainable investments.
ClientEarth, European Policy Office, Transport & Environment (T&E), Wwf and Bund (Friends of the Earth Germany) have started a procedure asking the Commission to cancel the legislative act that includes the two energy sources among those to be considered green, with the goal of excluding gas.
The national Greenpeace associations of eight member states, including Greenpeace Italy, have initiated a parallel legal action, with the same procedure and against the same provision.
Unlike other NGOs, however, the goal is to exclude gas and nuclear from the green "taxonomy".
Either way, the European Commission now has until February to respond.
If he refuses,
