Now it's official: In the district of Erding there is the first case of monkeypox.
Erding – The result of the PCR test was available to the health department on Monday, reports district office spokeswoman Claudia Fiebrandt-Kirmeyer at the request of our newspaper.
As reported, the affected person had contact with a person infected with monkeypox and shortly thereafter showed symptoms himself.
She now has to remain in quarantine until there are no longer any signs of illness, i.e. no more wounds can be seen on the skin.
This can take several weeks.
The authority assures that the risk of spreading is very low, since the viruses only spread to other people if they have been in very close contact for a long time.
The gradients are mostly easy.
The first cases appeared in Germany in May of this year.
According to the Robert Koch Institute, 3563 infections were registered nationwide by Monday.
