The stable in the Knirschvogelhaus became a stage at the weekend.

Around 200 guests came to the three concert evenings and listened to the music.

Walpertskirchen - The secret stars of the musical revue in the stables of the Knirschvogelhaus were Lea and Anton.

The 40-year-old mare and the 22-year-old gelding peered curiously at the improvised stage right next to their box, while munching hay with relish.

The two horses seemed to like the music in their stable, as they were there for almost the entire concert.

Only when Wolfgang Lohmeier started a brilliant solo on his percussion did they stormily flee into the open.

"We haven't seen each other for two and a half years," hostess Vroni Vogel welcomed around 70 guests at the premiere on Friday evening.

During the pandemic, the family of musicians became even more aware of "what we love".

That's why she put the three concert evenings on the weekend under this motto.

The hosts invited musicians with whom they have been friends for a long time and some of whom have been with the musical revue since the beginning.

But they also wanted to open up to something new, so Stephan von Clarmann presented three pieces on his vibraphone for the first time with the Knirschvogels, with which he took the audience into a dreamy, mysterious world of sound.

The stage was also moved.

The stable, bathed in purple and red light, turned into an art space.

Only the weather played a trick on the creative concept.

But Vroni Vogel, who led the evening in a charming and humorous way, remained calm and simply handed out blankets, tea and mulled wine.

The guests, most of them long-time fans, were grateful to be able to enjoy the music of the Knirschvogels again.

The artists entertained for three hours.

Violinist Martina Eisenreich, drummer Wolfgang Lohmeier on his "magic machine", Michaela Bauer on the accordion and Vogel's "favorite bass player" Stephan Glaubitz opened the evening with the initially melancholic and later hot "Blessing Nigun & I've Found A New Baby".

There were always improvisations, mostly with "the maestro and the gray eminence", as Vroni Vogel introduced her husband Dieter Knirsch, on the piano.

The series of concerts also celebrated the 70th birthday of the host.

A joint performance by the Knirsch Brothers premiered – the saxophonist interpreted Reinhart Knirsch's “Blue Hour Waltz” with his brother Dieter.

The presence of Quirin Vogel, son of the house and like his father a pianist, and his girlfriend, clarinettist Katharina Farbová, proved that the Knirschvogelhaus, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, is also prepared for the future.

The singers Ingrid Rottler and Sabine Trettenbacher as well as Thomas Ross presented humorous interludes.

Equipped with acting talent, the man in suit and bow tie performed “Das Triangle” by Georg Kreisler.

Well known to regular guests, but always a hit: Vroni Vogel and Stephan Glaubitz dressed up as pears and apples with the couplet "Die Ballade vom Fallobst" with which they brought the successful evening to a close.
