Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, stressed that the situation around Ukraine, under the pretext of Western countries trying to cover up other regional problems in the region, shows the essence of the West's double standards.
"With the efforts of Western colleagues, all attention has been shifted to Ukraine...This is what other delegations from developing countries have also noticed in the first place...They wonder why other regional problems have suddenly become less important," Nebenzia told reporters today, on the eve of the high-level meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, which begins tomorrow. ?, These are all valid, fair and highly impartial questions directed at the countries of the West, which again and again reveal their double standards.”
Nebenzia added that “developing countries wonder why Ukraine receives huge sums of cash from Western countries, even though economic and humanitarian aid to developing countries has been reduced in recent years under the pretext of lack of funds,” explaining that “everyone knows the role of Westerners in such crises as the Balkans, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan over Example and now they say there is no time to devote to these countries because Ukraine has taken all the attention.”
The Russian diplomat stressed that the United Nations should not prioritize some crises and ignore others.
