Freising/Altenhausen

– A year ago there was a fire in Altenhausen: a building used as a horse stable was engulfed in flames.

Now the owner wanted to build a new horse stable and a mountain hall there.

Sounds simple, but it isn't.

The city planning committee rejected the planning application.

The applicant scolded, could not be calmed down, it got loud in the meeting room of the town hall.

The applicant almost had to be expelled from the hall.

To the point: A building measuring 12 by 17 meters and with three paddocks in front of it was to be erected as a replacement for the stable that burned down.

16 horse places were planned, including three paddock boxes, an open stable for young horses and a stable for three older horses.

The Department of Agriculture straddles in between

The applicant wanted to focus in particular on young and old horses and on horse breeding, having stated in his application that the work should be mainly carried out by himself and his family.

And right there was a sticking point.

The Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, whose opinion is essential for whether such a project can be classified as privileged or not, found the concept implausible: the applicant lives 30 kilometers from Altenhausen, the concentration on old horses and horse breeding but means a particularly high need for care.

In addition, the planned paddock boxes are too small, the planned areas for the open stable and the lying area are also not suitable for the planned number of horses.

Applicant about to be thrown out of the room

And also the outlet planned for young horses is not sufficiently dimensioned, according to the agricultural office.

Conclusion: The project is not privileged in the form submitted and is therefore not permissible under building planning law.

The city councilors agreed to the corresponding resolution proposed by the administration, i.e. rejected the building application.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The applicant was not able to change that either, who, despite repeated warnings that listeners were not allowed to speak at committee meetings and several warnings that he would be expelled from the room, continued to complain: he could not understand all of this, one could do that with him don't do it, if the committee refuses, it will go public.
