An access center for the Syrian Virtual University was opened today in the city of Al-Hasakah after its main outlet in the governorate has been suspended since 2013 as a result of the security conditions and the disruption of the optical cable that connects the governorate to the rest of the governorates.
The director of the center, Dr. Abdul Aziz Jardan, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the opening of the access center is an important achievement and an essential tributary of education in the governorate in light of the conditions in which it is living, pointing out that the university signed an agreement with the Drucker Center for Human Resources Development to be the location of the access center and it will cover the various scientific disciplines that Provided by the Virtual University.
For his part, the supervisor at the Access Center, Eng. Ibrahim Marei, stated that the virtual university services have been suspended in the governorate since 2013 as a result of the interruption of the optical link between the governorate and Damascus and the lack of access at that time and as a result of the governorate’s need to find an access center again. Connecting the Al-Hasakah port to the virtual university port in Damascus and conducting technical experiments and their success.
Marei stressed that the provision of the access center will relieve a lot of the people of the governorate who were previously forced to take their exams in the rest of the governorates.
