Opinion Shaked needs to atone for her actions - and resign Israel today

2022-09-19T20:20:09.510Z

Until the exercise of establishing the government of change, I appreciated and liked Ayelet Shaked • Even today, I wish her great success in any non-political path she chooses

The last days before the closing of the lists for the Knesset were characterized by a feverish run of party crumbs, with the aim of creating unions that might produce political brilliance - something that ultimately did not happen.

Handel and Hauser found themselves outside the lists, and Shaked found herself inside the lists - but outside the polls.

No brilliance is in the picture, except, perhaps, Mahder Mokhtar, who at the moment is crashing against the walls of an unknown apartment in Haifa, and it is interesting to see how she will survive the crisis.

Political survival efforts are a very poor thing.

When it happens to the individual candidate trying to survive within an existing party, it is still tolerable.

Similar to an existing train, which is already moving, and someone tries to jump on it and take a seat.

In the cases of candidates who have to invent a political framework for themselves, it's already really ridiculous.

The names will testify: Derech Eretz, the Zionist Spirit, the Eternal Initiative, the State Center, the Shining Future.

None of them carries an ideological or conceptual message that does not exist.

The maximum they are capable of presenting is political exercise that breaks equality - and that doesn't happen either.

The quasi-tie between the blocs is jealously guarded from poll to poll, and with all the sadness in the matter, it actually constitutes a certificate of honor for the Israeli voters, who want to vote for an existing and essential matter, and not for attempts to survive in the game.

Handel and Hauser did well.

Ayelet Shaked should also drive the same way.

Because of the lack of chance, because of the honor, because of the loss of votes and also because of another thing: she has to atone for what she did with Naftali Bennett in the last year.

She understands and even says outright that it was a mistake, but as long as she continues in the race and tries to gnaw votes from the right-wing camp - this confession is out of the question and to the press.

For the wrongful act of establishing the fallen government, people of the right should give the verdict.

Most of them do not understand at all what it is about, and continue to lie and organize themselves in other settings.

Minister Shaked, who is the most decent of all there, at least says it half-heartedly, but in order for us to believe her - she needs to stop harming the right-wing bloc in her failed attempt to run in the elections.

She is at an age that allows taking a break and returning in another setting, or not at all.

Her courageous retirement will provide another excellent explanatory service in another psychological field, and that is - the disease of politicians' obsessive attachment to their careers, as if being an MK in a two-digit place in an opposition party is more important than running a bank or a school or a community center or growing cotton.

I do not underestimate the critical influence on a variety of things that the MK has, but there is a good life outside of this place as well, and when politicians who have reached the end of their path decide to retire and not stick around and howl like a stubborn child - they send a message of maturity and responsibility, which only does them good and purifies the system. Until the exercise The establishment of the government of change I appreciated and liked Ayelet Shaked, and even today I wish her great success in whatever non-political path she chooses.
