Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that what the Kyiv authorities are currently pursuing in the city of Izyum is the same scenario that they carried out in the city of Bucha before, in which they tried to accuse Russia of committing war crimes there.
In response to journalists' questions about the accusations against Russia in the city of Izyum, Peskov said: These accusations are of course false. We will defend the truth and expose the lies in this whole story.
On September 17, the head of the Civil Military Administration in the Kharkov region, Vitaly Ganchev, said that Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries participating in the military operations are torturing and shooting civilians in the cities of Izyum, Kubyansk, Veliky Borluk and Volchansk, accusing the Russian forces of doing so.
On the other hand, commenting on the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Armenia, Peskov said: This visit is welcome if it contributes to peace in the Caucasus. Pointing out that the real result of the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives to Yerevan will appear over time. Peskov stressed that the negotiation process to resume the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program includes controversial issues, but this document is in the interest of all countries.
"There are still a few outstanding issues that still need to be resolved and of course the JCPOA is in the interest of all countries," Peskov said.
