The Yuen Long Police District Anti-Triad Action Team launched an anti-criminal operation code-named "Thunderbolt 2022 (THUNDERBOLT 2022)". At about 7:30 p.m. yesterday (19th), a village house unit in Sheung Yau Tin Village smashed a suspected weapons warehouse. Thirty-five long knives, 15 daggers, six spring forks and a bag of steel balls were seized at the scene.
Two men and women surnamed Lu (59 years old) and Zheng (50 years old) in the unit were both arrested for "possessing offensive weapons" and are being detained for investigation.

The police reiterated that, according to the Summary Offences Ordinance, Chapter 228 of the Laws of Hong Kong, anyone who possesses an offensive weapon can be fined up to $5,000 and imprisoned for two years upon conviction.
