The Russian company Rostec announced that it has introduced its new versions of the Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters, which were specially adapted to meet the requirements of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

According to a statement issued by the company’s press service, carried by the Russia Today website, “the government company will support the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergency and Relief in the Russian Federation with a batch of these modern helicopters, after it reviewed its new copies,” noting that these helicopters were examined at the Kazan Helicopters Factory for the delivery of the first batch of them. The statement indicated that the aforementioned helicopters obtained new electronics and flight systems, and all their flight systems were automated to reduce burdens on pilots and ensure a high level of safety. They also obtained external suspension platforms to transport loads weighing up to 4 tons and were equipped with new vertical winches, in addition to the possibility of providing them with two internal tanks. Additional features that enable it to operate for a longer period as well as external video surveillance systems.

It is noteworthy that these helicopters carried out about 15,000 flights last year, during which they extinguished about 7,000 fires by pouring special liquids from the air.
