The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Canadian Ambassador to Moscow Alison Le Clare today in protest against the attack on the Russian Embassy in Ottawa.
According to the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry, quoted by TASS, the Canadian ambassador to Moscow, Le Clare, was summoned today to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and submitted a note of protest against the criminal actions of an unknown person who threw a Molotov cocktail on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Ottawa.
The ministry stated that aggressive demonstrators had blocked the entrance to the consular section of the Russian embassy in collusion with the police force present in the place.
Moscow demanded the immediate adoption of measures to ensure proper protection against discrimination against Russians as well as employees and members of their families in accordance with the obligations of the Canadian side to the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
