The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its readiness for dialogue with Washington regarding the fate of two convicted American prisoners in Russia.
“We have mentioned several times that we are ready to conduct negotiations on the fate of American citizens, Britney Greiner and Paul Whelan, convicted in Russia, and Russian citizens convicted in the United States, but the US embassy is busy with social networks instead of from communicating through diplomatic channels.
"If US embassy officials in Moscow had one minute of free time, they would tell their president, Joe Biden, about Whelan and Greiner, and he would tell their relatives," Zakharova added.
It is noteworthy that American Britney Greiner is serving a nine-year prison sentence for drug smuggling, while American Paul Whelan is serving a 16-year prison sentence for espionage.
