Doctor sees connection: Queen Elizabeth's last photos could provide information about the cause of death

Her blue hand immediately caused speculation, a doctor sees it as an indication of the cause of death.

Two days before her death on September 8, the British Queen appointed the new Prime Minister Liz Truss (47) at Balmoral Castle – her last appearance, which also provides clues as to the cause of the monarch's death.

On Thursday evening (September 8) at 7:32 p.m. (CEST), the palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth, the queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle, it said in a short statement.
The royal family kept the exact cause of death to themselves, but the most recent photos of the 96-year-old could shed some light on the matter.
Two days before her death, Queen Elizabeth II appeared in front of the cameras for the last time.
On September 6, she held a meeting with new Prime Minister Liz Truss (right) at Balmoral Castle.

In an interview with the "Daily Mail", the Australian doctor Dr.
Deb Cohen-Jones that one detail in particular catches the eye in the pictures from Scotland.
A blue-purple stain is clearly visible on the Regent's right hand, and the expert sees the discoloration as a potential indication of a serious illness.
"It looks like there may be signs of peripheral vascular disease," Cohen-Jones told the Daily Mail.

"It's a circulatory disorder that causes the blood vessels outside [the] heart and brain to narrow, block or spasm," she said.
This disorder can sometimes lead to heart failure, and the lack of blood flow can also be interpreted as a sign of multiple organ failure.

Queen Elizabeth may have been in "great pain," Cohen-Jones said, but she gave no sign of it when she last appeared in front of the cameras.
A few hours before her death, the palace had emphasized that the regent felt well, but her condition continued to deteriorate.
Some family members were no longer able to say goodbye to her in person.
The then Prince Charles (73) is said to have kept Meghan Markle (41) away from the Queen's deathbed.
