Price increase for the holiday:
Those who have already started shopping for Rosh Hashanah have noticed that the basket has become more expensive.
This feeling is backed up by the data, even when it's a week apart.
A survey conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Industry in collaboration with the Consumer Council and through Pricez on the occasion of the holidays, which included an examination of 165 products and 36 chains nationwide, including websites, shows that this year there was an increase of 1.6%, i.e. of about NIS 46 in the price of the basket in the same chains before the holiday.
This is a comparison made between 19.9.22 and 12.9.22, i.e. only one week apart.
Only one network showed a significant decrease of about 4%.
This is about the "Super Zoper" chain, which presented the highest price drop at a rate of about 4.4%, NIS 129, while "Tiv Taam in the City" presented the highest price increase at a rate of about 8.2%, that is, NIS 240.

The price increase does not miss the discount chains either.
With the exception of "Rami Levy" and "Shoppersal Deal", the other chains will increase the basket prices.
The products in which prices have increased are the field of legumes and fruits.
Fresh beans in weight with an increase of 29.3% from 25.3 NIS to 32.7 NIS, fresh mangoes in weight with an increase of 23.9% from 10.5 NIS to 13 NIS and green grapes without pits, with an increase of 22.3% from 16.5 NIS to 20.2 shekels
In the meat sector, the price of fresh ground beef or veal by weight increased from NIS 30.4 to NIS 36.4, i.e. 19.7%, and a 500 ml bottle of To Go Neviot mineral water increased by 13.3% from NIS 11.7 to 13.2.

Among the products in which there was actually a decrease are: pure honey from wild flowers of Yad Mordechai 350 grams with a decrease of 9.6% from NIS 14 to NIS 12.7.
The price of a simulated fresh beef or veal fillet decreased from 71.6 NIS to 66.3 NIS, the price of a 1 liter Tnuva alternative oat drink decreased by 6.5% from 12.9 NIS to 12.1 NIS.
In addition, as of today there is a gap of 28% between the expensive chain and the cheap one, which is about NIS 707.
From the list of chains tested, the chain that sold the basket of products at the highest price is "Super Alonit" with a basket of NIS 3,208.

Regarding the online sites, it appears that from the list of stores that were checked, the price difference between the expensive chain and the cheap one is about 16%, which is NIS 415.
It is important to compare the different chains because the difference between the price of a product in one chain can reach hundreds of percent.
For example, the difference between the cheapest price and the most expensive when it comes to a Maghol date is a difference of 214%, NIS 10 compared to NIS 31.4.
The difference between a fresh salmon fillet by weight is 136% - NIS 78.2 per kilo compared to NIS 155, 98%.
There are also disparities in the field of cleaning products: in the price of Silit Bang degreasing spray there is a difference of 133%, NIS 7.25 compared to NIS 16.9.
