A controversial regulation has fallen at the NRW police: Up to now, you could only apply to the police if you were at least 1.63 meters tall.
Now you can start the training with an additional sports test if you are smaller.
The Ministry of the Interior announced this in a report to the state parliament on Tuesday.

"We are introducing a new sport-scientific test procedure and thus giving applicants below the minimum height access to the NRW police force.
In this way, we continue to take into account the high physical and health demands placed on police officers on a daily basis," Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) told the German Press Agency.
