There are always isolated cases in which dogs are poisoned.

Numerous animals have now died in Frankfurt due to poisoned baits.

The police are investigating.

Frankfurt – In the Main metropolis, an unknown person is up to mischief who has laid out poison bait for animals.

Seven dogs lost their lives in this way in the Kalbach-Riedberg district.

After the poisoned bait was found in a park in the north-west of the city, no other poisoned animals were initially reported to the police.

However, the information about the dog losses in Frankfurt differs: while the

speaks of twelve dead dogs and over 20 injured animals, the German Press Agency (dpa) refers to police information, according to which seven animals died.

So far there is no information on who is responsible for the poisoned bait deeds in Frankfurt's Bonifatiuspark, the search is ongoing.

However, this is difficult without witness statements, explains the responsible police.

So far, no one has responded to the call to make observations.

The police patrols from the affected area have now been strengthened after the number of victims increased and four dead dogs were initially mentioned.

Photos of the dogs, death lights and flowers were set up at the crime scene north of Frankfurt, and people apparently met on Sunday to commemorate their dead dogs.

The deadly incidents occurred on September 16: the dogs had eaten the poisoned bait laid out on a walk on Friday morning.

The dog owners then took the poison to the police, who issued a warning on social media.

Such a large number of poisoned dogs is unusual, a police spokesman said.

"Usually there are always isolated cases." It was still unclear which poison it was.

explains, these are prepared meatballs.

The poisoned baits are examined by a specialist institute.

In order to clear up the poisoned bait case in Frankfurt's Bonifatiuspark, the animal protection organization PETA has offered a reward of 1,000 euros for information that convicts the perpetrator.
