Significant increase in district citizens who want to be vaccinated against the corona virus.

One group in particular stands out.

District – There is a lively rush again in the Ebersberg vaccination center.

According to Laura von Winterfeld, head of administration, the number of people willing to be vaccinated has increased “significantly” since September 12, i.e. since the adapted vaccine for the Omicron variant has been available.

"Compared to the weeks before, the number has tripled or quadrupled, depending on the day," says the head of administration.

Most of those willing to be vaccinated are people who are over 60 years old: "They come to be on the safe side next autumn and winter," she explains.

In addition to the new vaccine variant, the end of the holiday season and the start of school also play a role in the increase.

Tests are slowly increasing

With a few days' notice, however, everyone would still be able to get an appointment quickly and easily at the vaccination center.

In an emergency, spontaneous visitors can also get the vaccination: "We don't turn anyone away at the door," von Winterfeld clarifies.

Nevertheless, it is less complicated and less waiting for both the vaccination center and those who want to be vaccinated if an appointment has been made beforehand.

While at the same time the incidence in the district continues to rise, the tests are only “slowly increasing”, explains von Winterfeld.

The rush is not nearly as strong here for vaccinations.

Here, too, she suspects the end of the holiday season to be a decisive factor.

Because according to her previous experience, the number of people willing to test always went up at the end of the school holidays.
