China calls on BRICS countries to strengthen trust and support each other

Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Shen Yuewei, on Thursday called on the BRICS countries to enhance political mutual trust and support each other on important issues under the difficult international situation.

Shen told Sputnik: The current era of global change is approaching security risks, and the world has entered a new period of instability and radical change, as it faces unprecedented challenges, noting that through solidarity and cooperation, global threats and challenges can be responded to and overcome.

"We should enhance political mutual trust, enhance firm and mutual support on matters related to each other's core interests and concerns, call for real pluralism, support dialogue on confrontation, partnership and mutual benefit, firmly adhere to international fairness and neutrality, and work together to face risks and challenges," Shen added.
