Reithofen culture days in the yurt: organizer Konrad Huber satisfied with the premiere

Reithofen

– candlelight bathes the room in soft light.

There are carpets on the floor, and the listeners have made themselves comfortable on pillows and blankets.

There was a special atmosphere at the 1st Reithofen Culture Days, to which Konrad Huber had invited at the weekend.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)

The venue was also special: Huber had rented a yurt, a traditional tent used by nomads in Central Asia, particularly common in Mongolia.

There were four days of concerts and readings, magic and singing.

In the summer, the yurt, which can be rented from Miriam Boehlke from Grafing, was set up at the Forest & Environment Museum on the Ludwigshöhe in Ebersberg.

That's where she discovered Huber, "and I thought that this would be a good room for my guitar music to fit in," says the guitarist and qualified music teacher in an interview with our newspaper.

So he gave a concert there, in Ebersberg - and was enthusiastic about the special atmosphere, which was also well received by the audience.

This is how the idea came about to bring such a yurt to Reithofen for cultural events.

It all started on Thursday evening with open singing for everyone.

On Friday Huber performed his own compositions on the guitar under the motto "You Dare To Dream".

Guest at this concert was the young Erdinger author Marina Neumeier, who has already published several novels in the field of fantasy romance and urban fantasy.

That evening she read from her latest novel, Shape of Love.

On Saturday, the children got their money's worth at a magic show with Jörg Maier.

"It was very well attended," says Huber happily.

Just as well received on Sunday was the musical story entitled "The little I am I", told by Huber's wife Marei and accompanied by music by himself.

The listeners experienced virtuoso guitar music on Saturday evening with the award-winning guitarist Felix Vogt.

And at the end of the culture days, Huber promised a "singing sound rain with magical songs and extraordinary melodies" on Sunday evening.

And the guests who, despite the rather modest weather, found their way to the yurt on the soccer field behind the Schützenheim were not disappointed.

The listeners experienced music to pause on Sunday with guitar sounds by Lars Christiansen and Konrad Huber (from left) as well as a rain of sounds with unusual melodies by Traudi Maria Förschner (back, seated) and her instruments.

Huber and Lars Christiansen from Lengdorf played guitar pieces together and solo, while Traudi Maria Förschner from Grafing offered a sound concert with peculiar melodies and rhythms on a colorful set of instruments - from metallophone to shrutibox, an instrument that Huber described as an "Indian accordion". .

The musician sang lyrics in French, German and in her own singing language.

"It's what I feel inside, and then it has to come out," she explained of how these words come about.

Own compositions could be heard, but also melodies by Georges Bizet such as "La marche des Rois", which Förschner quickly rewrote into a "mammoth march" with lyrics like "Only with courage does the mammoth do well".

In between, she whistled and laughed, creating her very own style.

And when she grabbed the drum during an encore and the rain that started falling softly on the roof of the yurt, you almost had the feeling that this sound was also part of it.

This is how an entertaining evening to pause, to think and dream ended.

Konrad Huber is satisfied with the cultural premiere in his home town.

"The children's events were a hit, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with the adult concerts," he sums up.

"That was a bit of a downside, but the events themselves were very atmospheric, especially when it was dark outside."

The musician now wants to review the culture days again – also to see whether there will be a repeat, perhaps at a different time of the year.

"Because I really liked being able to offer something new and different" - individual culture on a small scale, because the yurt with a diameter of just 6.50 meters only offers limited space.

This closeness and informal atmosphere was something special, and Huber can certainly imagine expanding the repertoire a little should there be a repeat.

He is also pleased that the municipality of Pastetten, with Mayor Peter Deischl, was open to this cultural project and made the space available.
