A serious traffic accident occurred on Monday afternoon on the state road between the Maxhof roundabout and the Söckinger roundabout.

Miraculously, a 25-year-old was only slightly injured.

Söcking – Even the Starnberg police speak of a guardian angel that a 25-year-old man had with him on Monday afternoon.

The driver from Schrobenhausen crashed into a tractor-trailer combination on the state road between the Maxhof roundabout and the Söckinger roundabout at around 100 km/h, which had broken down due to a breakdown.

The 25-year-old apparently suffered “only minor injuries to his face”, as reported by the police.

Tempo 100 is allowed on the spot.

The 25-year-old was driving his Mitsubishi on the state road towards Söckinger Kreisel around 3:30 p.m.

Also on the route was a 31-year-old from Starnberg, who drove a tractor with a tipper trailer.

Shortly after the bridge over the Maising Gorge, the team unexpectedly stopped due to a technical defect.

"The Mitsubishi driver recognized the situation too late and drove onto the dump trailer," reports a police spokeswoman.

The 25-year-old's vehicle was rotated on its own axis by the force of the impact and thrown into oncoming traffic.

There he met a milk truck driven by a 30-year-old man from Geretsried.

And he reacted with presence of mind.

The spokeswoman: “Fortunately, the truck driver recognized the situation in good time and initiated emergency braking.

He just touched the rear of the Mitsubishi and pushed it forward a few meters.” Hard to believe: The 25-year-old was then able to get out of his completely destroyed car on his own.

First responders treated the slightly injured, then the ambulance took him to a hospital.

It was also a stroke of luck that he was alone in the car.

"A passenger would have had a hard time," said the spokeswoman, looking at the wreck.

There were no other injuries.

The Mitsubishi was completely deformed, especially in the front area, and had to be towed away.

The rear axle of the tipper trailer was pushed forward, while the milk truck only suffered slight damage at the front left.

The police estimate the total damage at around 24,000 euros.

The state road was closed in both directions for about two hours while the accident was being recorded and the vehicles were being transported away.

However, nothing is known of any major chaos caused by this, the police said.

The Söcking volunteer fire brigade was also in action.

About twelve volunteers took care of traffic safety at the site and collected leaking fuel.
