Frédéric Henrio only travels by bicycle in his town of Saint-Evarzec (Finistère).
Admittedly, he owns a car but only uses it wisely, concerned about preserving the environment.
During the two confinements, he pedaled up to 20 km a day to drop off the groceries of people who could not move.
In 2015, he had an idea to raise awareness about energy and soft travel.
“We are using and abusing energy, which leads to big expenses and perhaps, in the future, a shortage.
So, with the help of Henri Boutet, who was the town's security referent at the time, we built an electro-muscular power plant in my garage, producing electricity, connected to ten bicycles, which I recovered from the landfill, with permission.

The principle is simple: to power the plant and then produce electricity, you have to pedal.
“This is human energy.
Any device that does not exceed a certain power can be connected to the control unit.
For the moment, it only supplies energy to video projectors and sound systems.
But we can consider another use.

Frédéric Henrio, who is a member of the Saint-Evarzec Cycling Committee, tested his plant in 2016 during Cycling Week.
“There was the screening of the film,
Jour de fête,
by Jacques Tati.
It was the power plant that supplied the projection with electricity.
I must admit that we had a great success, but with a few cuts all the same, the video projector consuming a lot.
We had to pedal a hell of a lot.

Since then, he has been solicited from all sides: primary schools, colleges, associations, festivities… “It's a real sharing with people.
I travel to Finistère and Morbihan.
I was responsible for the sound system at the start of the Tour du Finistère this year and was present at two festivals, the
Low-Tech
de Concarneau and the
Film Insulaire
de l'Île de Groix.

The plant will cross the regions since it will be in Lille on October 14 on the occasion of the
Maker Fair
, the festival of Innovation and Creativity.
“School children will come and do karaoke which will be powered by the plant.
A unique event.
But, more often than not, Frédéric Henrio favors associations from Varzécoises for his interventions.
