Fatal accident on the A6: van driver overlooks the end of the traffic jam and crashes into the truck

A man was killed in a violent rear-end collision on the A6.

Because he had probably overlooked the end of a traffic jam, a transporter driver crashed into the rear of a truck. The man died in the collision.

Aurach – On Tuesday morning there was a serious accident on the A6 in the direction of Heilbronn.

A truck had to brake due to slow traffic.

A following transporter probably registered this too late and drove almost unchecked onto the semitrailer.

The driver of the van did not survive the collision.

Fatal accident on the A6: Transporter driver can no longer brake in time

The accident happened around 7.45 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to a spokeswoman for the Central Franconia police headquarters.

The collision occurred between the Aurach and Feuchtwangen junctions (both in the Ansbach district) in the direction of Heilbronn.

At the Frankenhöhe Süd service area, a truck had to brake due to slow traffic.

A 39-year-old Slovenian drove behind him in his van.

He probably overlooked the braking maneuver of the 49-year-old German and crashed into the rear of the semi-trailer almost without braking.

The entire front of the transporter was dented.

According to the police headquarters in Middle Franconia, the 39-year-old was trapped in the cockpit of his vehicle.

The fire brigade, which arrived later, was able to free the man.

However, the paramedics and emergency doctor who were also alerted could not do anything for the driver.

He died later at the accident site.

The driver of the truck was shocked.

After a fatal accident on the A6: Direction Heilbronn closed for several hours

The direction of travel to Heilbronn on the A6 was completely blocked until 12 p.m. due to the accident.

At first there were traffic delays.

However, the police later diverted traffic to the Aurach junction.

On Twitter, the Central Franconia police asked all car and truck drivers to drive around the affected area.
