Finds and marvels at the Chatou Fair

The scrap metal market has become over time that of fine antiques. A very popular event to the west of Paris, from September 23 to October 2.


Formerly known as the “Scrap and Ham Fair”, the Foire de Chatou has come a long way to become the largest second-hand and antiques fair in France.

Installed on the island of the Impressionists since 1970, it has now become the unmissable meeting place for all merchants, who acclaim the biannual event (in March and September) for its festive and good-natured atmosphere, but also for the quality objects found there.

Recorded since the Middle Ages in Paris, the Foire de Chatou is now fully part of the European and international market, and it is not uncommon to come across decorators from the United States and Japan, as well as many French prescribers, such as interior designers.

It is recognized for the variety of its merchandise offer but also for its seriousness according to an objective criterion of quality, as evidenced by the presence on site throughout the event of certified experts who authenticate the objects present on the stands of the fair and carry out on-demand authentication certificates.

In a post-Covid context where other shows are shrinking, forcing some participants to slow down their activity and keep only Chatou as an unmissable event with an audience of amateurs and seasoned buyers.
