From January this year to yesterday (19th), the bureau has received 46 requests for assistance, of which 33 people have been confirmed to be safe, and 25 of them have returned to Hong Kong.

The Security Bureau said today (20th) that after one more Hong Kong citizen had earlier sought help from the Immigration Department's "Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Abroad Unit", he was sent to the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. With the assistance of the Royal Thai Embassy, the task force of the Security Bureau and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok, we returned to Hong Kong safely from Thailand today.
Since the establishment of the Security Bureau Task Force, a total of 15 help-seekers have returned to Hong Kong safely under its coordination.

The Security Bureau also added that as of yesterday (19th), a total of 46 Hong Kong residents had received requests for help.
According to the information obtained by law enforcement agencies (including the Immigration Department and the Police Department), 33 Hong Kong people have been confirmed to be safe, and 25 of them have returned to Hong Kong; the remaining 13 people, according to the latest information, 4 people are in Myanmar, 9 people are in Cambodia. Personal freedom is restricted (including lost contact).
The Bureau also appeals to the relevant Hong Kong residents or their family members to contact the Immigration Department as soon as possible. They can use the dedicated WhatsApp line 5190 8909 for this matter, or call the 24-hour helpline of the Immigration Department's "Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit" (852) ) 1868. Use the "Immigration Department Mobile Application" to call the 1868 hotline or submit an online help form with internet data.
Members of the public who suspect they have been deceived should report the case to the police as soon as possible.
