The government could choose to pass the pension reform in the next Social Security budget, despite the opposition

The word is on the lips of all ministers when it comes to discussing pension reform: “consultation”.

It is in this context that the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, is to receive the presidents of groups from the National Assembly and the Senate on Wednesday and Thursday, according to her official agenda published on Tuesday.

"The agenda is not limited to pensions," said Matignon, stressing that the Prime Minister receives them "upstream of the parliamentary session".

This begins on October 3 with, in particular, the examination of the unemployment insurance bill and the budget.

Elisabeth Borne will first receive the representatives of the majority then the independents in the Senate, the Communists and the ecologists of the two chambers, as well as the Centrist Union in the Senate.

In the afternoon, it will be the turn of the Freedom, Independence, Overseas and Territories group in the Assembly and of the European Democratic and Social Rally in the Senate, of the two presidents of the LR group and finally of the Socialist representatives of the two chambers.

Thursday, Elisabeth Borne will receive Marine Le Pen, president of the RN group at the National Assembly.

“Avoid what is called a forced passage”

The Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt assured Tuesday that the hypothesis of a pension reform in the next Social Security budget “is not quite decided”.

Despite the unanimous rejection of the unions and the opposition, the track of a reform by an amendment to the Social Security budget "is part of the scenarios" envisaged by the executive, he nevertheless confirmed on RTL.

Assuring that he wanted to "avoid what is called a passage in force", he considered "normal that the government keep all possibilities".

"An amendment is not a dirty word," said Monday evening on LCP and Public Senate the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Franck Riester, who will participate in these meetings.

The question of the calendar also animated the meeting of the group of deputies Renaissance (ex-LREM) Tuesday morning, reported a participant.

“You have to make decisions.

It is a marker of courage.

The PLFSS

(Social Security financing bill

) is first and foremost about Social Security and therefore pensions.

Let's go, ”pleaded Éric Woerth (ex-LR), very applauded but without convincing all his colleagues.
