Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his country's support for Algeria's balanced line in regional and international affairs, pointing out that it is Russia's second largest trading partner in Africa.
Russia Today website quoted Putin as saying, while accepting the credentials of a number of new ambassadors in Moscow, including the Algerian ambassador, Ismail Benamara, that trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Algeria continues to develop actively, as is the case in other fields, including the military-technical and humanitarian fields.
The Russian President stressed the continuation of work with Algeria to promote stability in the Middle East, North Africa and the Sahara-Sahel region.
