Queen Elizabeth II has been consulted on all arrangements for her funeral.

At her request, the funeral protocol will also change.

London – Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) directed the arrangements for her funeral and funeral service while she was still alive and, like her husband Prince Philip (99, † 2021), left nothing to chance.

According to the British Daily Mail, planning for this had already begun in the 1960s.

The monarch, who died in Balmoral, Scotland, had "played an active role".

She chose Westminster Abbey as the place of her burial and also explicitly expressed her music wishes.

Queen Elizabeth II's personal touch in plans for the day of the funeral is already causing goosebumps.

The monarch will be buried to the mournful strains of bagpipes in what is likely to be one of the largest ceremonies in the country.

Even Queen Victoria (81, † 1901) is said to have enjoyed listening to the sound of the instrument with the characteristic bellows.

As announced by Buckingham Palace, Elizabeth II has added some personal elements to the plans for her funeral

.

The musical arrangement envisages that “The Last Post” will be played towards the end of the service.

The national minute of silence follows the sound of the trumpet.

Prince Philip also chose the musical accompaniment for his funeral himself. At the end of the state funeral, which is expected at 12 noon, a bagpiper of Elizabeth II will play a lament of her choice.

After the service at Westminster Abbey, the Queen's coffin is carried in another procession to Wellington Arch.

During the two-minute silence, calm will also descend in the skies over London as Heathrow Airport will suspend all departures and arrivals for 30 minutes from 11.40am.

It will then be as if the world stands still for a moment.

The Queen will be in the King George VI.

Memorial Chapel where she will be buried with her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died last year.

The modest regent of the century only wants to take two personal things with her to her grave.

As the Queen's coffin is lowered into the royal tomb, the Archbishop of Canterbury will read a benediction and as the sounds of the bagpiper fade away, a great monarch will be gone forever.
