Two drivers have been investigated this Tuesday for driving recklessly and finally colliding on the A-4 highway in Valdemoro (Madrid).

The vehicles got into several attempts to overtake and mutual interception in the middle of the highway, with "manifest contempt for the lives of others", according to the press release released by the Civil Guard.

Everything was recorded by a motorist who was driving behind the two

chopped drivers.

A white car and a black minibus were involved in the event.

At first, tourism tries up to two times to overtake the minibus on the right side of the road, when it blocks the way in an effort to prevent the maneuver.

Moments later, the white vehicle accelerated strongly to overtake when both vehicles were already at the edge of the start of the motorway exit.

Once overtaking, the white vehicle begins to maneuver with a series of zigzagging movements to get in the way of the minibus, and both end up getting involved in this way of driving on the edge of the motorway exit, without noticing that they were surrounded of other vehicles, including a motorcycle that was driving in front of them, as can be seen in the video recorded by a third vehicle.

Finally, the minibus ends up colliding with the white vehicle at the roundabout that gives access to the M-404 road.

The facts are being investigated by the Valdemoro Court of Instruction, and both are accused of reckless driving, which carries a prison sentence of between six months and two years and the deprivation of the right to drive a motor vehicle for a between one and six years.

The Civil Guard has released these images the day after it became known that the number of road accidents fell in 2021. This Monday, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, presented the accident rates for last year, in which it is collected that 1,533 people have died on the road.

Although the Grande-Marlaska has remarked that this figure is "unaffordable", it is a decrease of 13% compared to 2019 and the second lowest number in the historical series, not counting the 2020 numbers due to the exceptionality of the pandemic.
