"Cynicism"
Following the White House, NATO and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron also indicated that these referendums would have
"no consequence on our position"
.
Namely:
“Russia must leave Ukrainian territory, Russian armies must leave Ukrainian territory which is sovereign, Russia must respect internationally recognized borders.
The very idea of organizing referenda in regions which have suffered from war, bombardments, or people have had to flee is the signature of cynicism”.
The French president must also meet with Vladimir Putin
"in the coming days"
on the
"nuclear issue".
“We had an interview a fortnight ago.
I will see the Director General of the IAEA tomorrow and we will have a dedicated session tomorrow morning and in function I will speak to President Putin again in the next few days.
Emmanuel Macron again asked for the
"withdrawal of Russian forces"
, the
"only thing that could allow to have a result in this conflict".
