Six men, from the importer to the "

nurse

" of a contraband cigarette sales network, have been sentenced to prison terms of up to 18 months with a warrant of committal, the Val -d'Oise.

In October 2021, investigators from the Val-d'Oise departmental security began investigations into this network which operates in Garges-lès-Gonesse and Sarcelles, neighboring towns, densely populated and located in the south of the department.

The supply man and the “

team leader of the sellers

”, both 32 years old, were sentenced to 18 months in prison with a warrant of committal, the logistician and one of the nannies to one year with maintenance in prison.

The importer, 34, was sentenced to one year in prison with probation and a fine of 5,000 euros.

Finally, the second nanny, a 50-year-old man, received an 8-month suspended prison sentence and a 5,000 euro fine.

Trafficking in smuggled cigarettes plagues many city centers in the Paris suburbs.

In mid-September, a clandestine cigarette manufacturing workshop was dismantled in Seine-et-Marne, the second discovered in France in less than a year, equipped with around thirty machines intended for the establishment of a line illegal production.
