A fatal car accident occurred in Tuen Mun.
Today (21st) at about 5:40 in the morning, a freight forwarder was driving along Qingyun Road towards Butterfly Bay.
On the way to the intersection of Beidu Road, he hit a cyclist who was traveling in the opposite direction and planned to turn right into Beidu Road.
After the accident, the bicycle fell to the side of the road, and both wheels flew off. One of the wheels was stuck on the bottom of the van. The front of the van was seriously dented, and it stopped after rushing forward about 25 meters.
The cyclist fell to the ground and fell unconscious. He was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital by ambulance for treatment, but unfortunately died.
The male deceased, 71 years old, is reported to live in Shan Shan Village, Tuen Mun.
The 50-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured and was taken to a police car to assist in the investigation. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is being detained for investigation.
