Through two films documenting the struggle of peoples in all its forms and the role of resistance and sacrifice in achieving victory, eliminating terrorism and reviving a sense of hope, the Resistance Cinema Week, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture - the General Film Organization, in cooperation with the Lebanese Association for Arts “Resalat”, continued its activities this evening at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The first film was “Journey 17” directed by Ali Ismail Al Maghout, script and dialogue by Hassan Mustafa, produced by the General Film Organization, and highlights one of the epics of heroism and honor for the Syrian Arab Army, and narrates real events that took place at the beginning of 2013 in the 904th Battalion, Electronic Warfare Battalion.

The film narrates the humanitarian cases experienced by our guerrilla soldiers in their confrontation with armed terrorist organizations in a storytelling in which drama is mixed with documentation by the tongue of its true heroes in harmony that combines a feeling of love for the homeland and the other and altruism to purify the earth with a mighty determination to the last breath of life.

The film reads in its events the specifics of the 17th Division in Raqqa Governorate because of its critical role for its officers and soldiers in breaking the siege imposed by the mercenary terrorists who support them from abroad by financing them with equipment, weapons, medicines and other tools, while our heroic soldiers were fighting all those forces with simple tools and patiently.

The film starring the artist Wadah Halloum and the artist Karam Al-Shaarani, and with the documentary participation of the real heroes within that epic, who are Colonel Akram, the commander of the military unit in Raqqa, and Lieutenant-Colonel Shadi Ahmed.

The second screening was devoted to the Iranian film "When the Moon Is Full", directed by Narges Ibar. The film tells the true story of the marriage of the film's hero, Abdel Hamid Reghi, and his heroine, Faezeh Mansouri, who met when Abdel Hamid was working in a store in a market in Zahedan.

The film continues its events with the marriage of the two heroes, to begin a journey of suffering against the terrorist groups that took control of Pakistan.

The film is considered one of the most important films of Iranian cinema, as it won 7 awards with a crystal phoenix at the Fajr International Film Festival in 2019.

The week, which included showing films from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, concludes its activities on Thursday.
