Bad Wörishofen – An accident occurred on Tuesday evening shortly before Bad Wörishofen on the A96 (direction Munich), involving three cars with a total of twelve occupants.

Four people were slightly injured.

The culprit was drunk.

Shortly after 8 p.m., there was a rear-end collision on the right lane on the A96 (around Tricor), a 30-year-old crashed into the back of a 34-year-old with his car.

As a result, both cars lurched, collided with the middle crash barrier and then with the right crash barrier.

A Land Rover coming from behind tried to swerve, but instead also collided with the right-hand guard rail and eventually rolled over.

As a precaution, everyone involved in the accident was taken to nearby hospitals for further assessment of possible injuries.

Four of the twelve occupants were found to have sustained minor injuries.

The three cars involved, which were totaled, had to be towed away.

Property damage of around 60,000 euros was caused to the car and the crash barriers.

Why is the polluter threatened with particularly great trouble?

Several empty bottles of alcohol were found in the 30-year-old's car.

A breath alcohol test carried out on site showed a value of over 1.8 per thousand.

Criminal proceedings are now being instituted against the man for endangering road traffic, among other things.

His driver's license was confiscated.

The right lane had to be closed for about three hours to record the traffic accident.

For a short time, the A96 in the direction of Munich was completely blocked.

The fire brigade and the Mindelheim motorway maintenance department were deployed to secure, clean and block the accident site.
