A new judicial front was opened at home this Wednesday for Donald Trump.

The attorney general of the State of New York, Letitia James, a longtime opponent, has sued him and his three eldest children, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, "for engaging for years in financial fraud aimed at their own enrichment and of the Trump Organization,” James, who has been investigating these practices for three years, clarified on Twitter.

He asks them for 250 million dollars.

The 220-page lawsuit, filed in a Manhattan court, holds them responsible for "numerous acts of fraud and manipulation" of Trump's tax returns between the years 2011 and 2021. Between 2016 and 2021, Trump was president of the United States.

James' investigation has focused on clarifying whether the value of the tycoon's properties was altered to obtain tax benefits, as well as to obtain bank loans.

“There are not two sets of laws for the people of this nation: former presidents must respond like the rest of Americans,” James said.

Today, I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for engaging in years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family, and the Trump Organization.

The objectives of that lawsuit are: to prohibit the Trumps from doing business in New York again, to ban their organization from the local real estate market for five years and to share the fruit of their investigations with the Department of Justice, which has two open cases against them. the tycoon: for his actions in the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, and for the classified documents that he took from the White House and were found in early August, during an FBI search of his residence in Mar- A-Lake, in Florida.

The former president has dispatched the accusations, which he denies, as part of a "political persecution" strategy, an argument that is not new: he reuses it whenever the opportunity arises to criticize the judicial investigations that in recent months have been surrounding him in imminence of the November legislative elections, in which Democrats and Republicans, still under the shadow of Trump, play for control of the Capitol.

Donald Jr., the son who exhibits greater harmony with the father, has reacted to the news from New York with a message on Twitter in which a video of James is accompanied by the following message: “The bullshit of the hunting of Democrat witches continues!”.
