Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief at RT, calls for attacks on NATO territory.
That is now possible because of the “referendums”.
Moscow – After the recent defeats in the Ukraine war and numerous casualties, Russia is going “all in” to provoke a conflict with NATO.
At least that's how Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief at
RT
, one of the most important Kremlin media, put it.
She was referring to the "referendums" in the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine.
According to the RT
boss , the fact that Russia recognizes the eastern regions of Ukraine makes it easier for Moscow to attack and endanger NATO with military
strikes.
“Referendum today, recognition tomorrow, attack on NATO territory the day after tomorrow”
"It's an immediate Crimea scenario and would be an all-in," Simonyan wrote on Facebook.
She further commented: “Today a referendum, tomorrow recognition as part of Russia, the day after tomorrow attacks on the territory between Ukraine and NATO.
If I understand correctly, referendums are not only held there”.
Meanwhile, according to the White House, the United States is taking Vladimir Putin's nuclear threats "very seriously" and has announced "serious consequences" in the event of an emergency.
For a nuclear power, this is "irresponsible rhetoric," John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, told ABC.
US and NATO condemn Putin's nuclear rhetoric
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also condemned Putin's "ruthless nuclear rhetoric".
The Russian President had previously announced a partial mobilization of Russians of military age and threatened the West that Russia would use all "available means" to protect its territory.
"Those who are trying to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the tide can turn in their direction, too."
"This is dangerous and ruthless nuclear rhetoric," said NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg on the fringes of the UN general debate in New York.
This is nothing new for Putin.
