Prof. Roni Gamzo today (Wednesday) finished his position as CEO of the medical institution, after seven years in the position. Instead, Gamzo will serve in a position that has not yet been revealed, which, according to him, is "similar in format to the position of chairman:

"About 20 years ago, I joined the management of the hospital As Vice President of Economics," said Gemzo in a farewell letter to the hospital's employees, "in the past few weeks, my heart has been filled with a decision to vacate the position of CEO of the hospital and allow for a new and groundbreaking leadership." He further added that "public leadership is measured by the ability to clear your place for the next generation When you feel comfortable and safe.

Precisely then, a leader is required to allow continuity, while refreshing the management style"

Gamzo added that he does not intend to leave Ichilov, but to move to a position similar in format to the chairman, and engage in the development of the hospital.

Gemzo also said that he will be involved in the promotion of innovation in Ichilov's subsidiaries, promote medical technology and engage in international operations.

Remez Gemzo also hinted in his letters about running for the position of mayor of Tel Aviv.

"I will examine integration in public and business positions - although I have not yet made any decision on the matter," said Gamzo, "I am first of all interested in continuing to be involved in the improvement of the hospital."

About six months ago, Gamzo's name came up as a possible candidate for the mayorship, after during an interview with the podcast he said that he would not rule out running against Khudalai.

"I'm not saying I won't run against Huldai, I'm just saying it's not an issue I'm discussing at the moment. I'm being mentioned as such a candidate, and I accept it with great appreciation with a great deal of responsibility."

A lot of responsibility."

Gamzo served as the director of the Ichilov Hospital since 2015. In 2014-2010 he served as the director general of the Ministry of Health and in July 2020 he was appointed head of the "Magen Israel" program, which is in charge of the fight against the coronavirus in Israel.
