The orientation and programming bill of the Ministry of the Interior (Lopmi) will be examined in first reading in the hemicycle of the Senate from October 11, according to the conclusions of the conference of presidents meeting on Wednesday September 21.
A public vote on this text, which includes 16 articles and provides for an increase of 8,500 police and gendarme posts in five years, will be organized on October 18.
The Lopmi bill will be examined in committee on October 5 by the senators, who are seized of it in the first place, before the deputies.
The Law Commission heard Minister Gérald Darmanin on Wednesday on this bill.

Fight against medical deserts
The right-wing majority Senate will also examine at first reading on October 18 the bill on consulting firms, led by Éliane Assassi (CRCE with a communist majority) and Arnaud Bazin (LR), which the Minister of Transformation and Public functions Stanislas Guerini has undertaken to have it placed on the agenda of the National Assembly.
Also on the agenda on October 18 is a bill to fight against medical deserts, at the request of the LR group.
Two debates in application of article 50-1 of the Constitution (declaration by the government followed by a debate) are scheduled: October 12 on France's energy policy, and October 26 on the war in Ukraine.
Within the framework of spaces reserved ("
niches
") for opposition groups, there is still on the agenda a bill initiated by the environmental group to include the right to abortion in the Constitution, a proposal for centrist law aimed at creating emergency aid for victims of domestic violence... or even a bill in favor of agrivoltaism (Independents).

The bill on unemployment insurance, the first text of the government submitted to the deputies, will not arrive in the Senate until October 25.
Work in the hemicycle will resume on October 4, with a series of debates on various themes (States General of Justice, hospital emergencies, etc.) and on Wednesday October 5 the first session of topical questions to the government of the 2022-2023 ordinary session.
