The countries of the Non-Aligned Movement renewed their firm position on the occupied Syrian Golan, calling on Israel to implement Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981 and the necessity of fully withdrawing from the occupied Syrian Golan to the June 4, 1967 line, in accordance with Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.

During its ministerial meeting today, with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the General Assembly, the movement adopted a political declaration that reflected the movement’s positions on various issues on the international scene, especially the emphasis on its principled position and its firm commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and the need to establish a just and equitable world order far away On the negative impact of the global financial and economic crises, the persistence of resource shortages, inequality in terms of trade, non-cooperation of developed countries, as well as the impact of coercive measures imposed by some of them and the use or threat of force.

During his speech, Miqdad affirmed Syria's right to recover the entire occupied Syrian Golan up to the June 4, 1967 line, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions, once again Syria's firm and principled position in support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Miqdad stressed Syria's adherence to the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement to confront the great challenges that afflict the world, the most important of which is the spread of terrorism regionally and internationally, pointing to the need for effective cooperation to confront this dangerous threat.

Al-Miqdad condemned the support of Western countries for terrorism and their imposition of illegal coercive measures on Syria and some countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, stressing the need to end any illegal foreign military presence on Syrian territory.
