The Twenty-Second Scientific Conference on Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases discussed the most common cases and diseases related to complications and cosmetic operations in this specialty.
The conference, which is organized by the Syrian Society of Ear, Nose and Throat Doctors at the Golden Beach Resort in Lattakia, includes a discussion of laser surgery for laryngeal tumors, fungal sinusitis, thyroid tumors, horizontal laryngectomy, with a dialogue session on chronic sinusitis, chronic otitis media, rhinoplasty, and the difficulties facing stapes surgery and membrane grafting. In a speech, Minister of Health Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabash pointed out the importance of the newborn audio survey program, which is organized by the National Committee for Audiological Survey and includes various parties in Syria with international organizations using the latest devices and treatment protocols for hearing disorders.
Al-Ghubash pointed out that the program aims to conduct a hearing survey for children by 100% before reaching the first month of life, diagnose hearing loss before the age of three months, and early intervention before the age of six months, through the specialized audiological survey centers spread in various governorates.
For his part, the head of the Syrian Society of Otolaryngologists, Dr. Naboug Al-Awa, explained that the main objective of the association is to raise the scientific level of all doctors of this specialty and to provide its services to all the people of the country, in addition to its desire to increase the number of its members and thus greater comprehensiveness in providing services to those who deserve it.
