Damascus-SANA

The Wounded Al-Watan project announced that it is benefiting from Decree No. (19) regarding the aggravation of the injuries of the war-wounded of the Syrian Arab Army and the allied forces, whose injuries aggravated.

The project explained in a video posted on its Facebook page that the benefit is achieved by presenting the wounded to the military medical councils and committees and presenting their files in which the aggravation of their injuries was documented before the issuance of the decree, indicating that their disability rate is automatically adjusted without the need for them to be reviewed by the medical councils.

The project pointed out that the importance of the decree is to provide a legislative and legal environment to improve the conditions of the wounded by reassessing their disability percentage and complements what the multi-injury law has achieved in terms of achieving justice in calculating the disability percentage of the wounded and gives an opportunity to recalculate the disability percentage and thus grant them more rights and services.

The project indicated that the decree is characterized by continuity, as it allows the wounded to be presented to medical councils and committees whenever his war injury worsens, and is characterized by flexibility as it allows the military to be presented to the Military Medical Council in a civilian capacity.

Regarding the upcoming results of the decree, the project explained that the injured person, whose injury rate will become 40% and above, will receive new decisions that include their dismissal from service, liquidation of their rights and financial compensation, and their joining the project, and those whose percentage of disability will change will receive rights and services commensurate with their new disability rates.

On the 19th of this month, President al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 19 of 2022 regarding the aggravation of injury among the wounded in war operations, amending Article 43 of the Military Pensions Law issued by Legislative Decree No. 17 of 2003 and its amendments, and Article 42 of the Internal Security Forces Pensions Law issued by Legislative Decree No. 2 of 2012.
