Today, 5,116 male and female students from the faculties of human medicine in Syrian public, private and non-Syrian universities applied for the second session of the unified medical exam, September 2022 session.
The National Commission for Quality and Reliability indicated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that the applicants for the exam were distributed among six examination centers within the universities of “Damascus, Aleppo, Tishreen, Al-Baath, Hama and Tartous.”
All medical students in public and private universities who have completed all courses in public universities or credit hours in private universities for 2022 and before or who have only 4 courses or 12 credit hours left for the exam took the exam.
The commission set the passing mark for the standard medical exam for Syrian university students at 60 percent, and the student benefits from exam aid by only two marks, and the average for the sixth year is calculated on the basis of the standard medical exam rate.
The commission also indicated that graduates of non-Syrian universities are subject to the unified medical exam in order to equalize their certificates, and the passing score for them is 50 percent, and the 60 percent mark is adopted as a condition for progressing to graduate studies.
The exam includes topics of internal medicine, dermatology, laboratory, pediatrics, surgery, ophthalmology, ear, gynecology and obstetrics.
The first session of the exam was held on Thursday 8-9-2022.
