The city of Miesbach has increased the amount of the fee for parking spaces in the city area.

At its most recent meeting, the building committee unanimously agreed to increase the compensation from 8,000 to 12,000 euros.

In the committee there are always requests to partially or completely replace parking spaces, which are specified by the municipal parking space statute depending on the structural use.

A difficult subject.

On the one hand, the options for creating the prescribed parking space on one's own property are very limited, especially in the city center.

For example, in the event of a change of use or the conversion of an attic floor into an apartment.

On the other hand, the city is very interested in having as many parking spaces as possible created privately so as not to overload the public parking space.

The fundamental question of whether one should take a closer look at the amount of the transfer came up in the previous meeting when a citizen asked in general whether the transfer of parking spaces was possible.

This brought the previously applicable 8,000 euros into focus, and they are not exactly the highest margin in the district, as Hans Löw noted.

Other municipalities are at 10,000 euros, Holzkirchen even at 12,000 euros.

The building committee agreed with the latter.

"10,000 euros would be my lowest limit," said Stefan Griesbeck (CSU).

It tends to be higher.

Relief for social housing

In addition to the amount of the fee, the required number of parking spaces was also an issue.

The background is the social housing that is planned for Am Gschwendt and as part of the replacement building of the district office.

The city had allowed exceptions to its parking space statutes.

Instead of asking for two parking spaces per apartment, there is a staggering here: one parking space for up to 60 square meters of living space, one and a half for up to 80 square meters and two parking spaces for more than 80 square meters.

While it is still assumed that the public transport connection in the district will require a car, when it comes to social housing, the committee assumes that two vehicles are less likely from a financial point of view.

Therefore, the change against the vote of traffic officer Florian Ruml (FWG) was approved.

Nevertheless, there was a need for discussion beforehand.

Third Mayor Franz Mayer (CSU) had concerns that builders could circumvent the regular parking space requirement in this way.

"I think the social aspect is good," said Mayer, "but I would link it to a social bond of at least 40 years."

Duration of social commitment without influence

The head of the building authority, Lutz Breitwieser, disagreed.

He pointed out that the duration of the social bond has no influence on the building permit.

"If we stipulate social housing in the development plan, it means that the apartments must meet certain statutory requirements," he explained.

Among other things, it is about size, cut and a price cap per square meter.

If these requirements are met, the simplified parking space key applies.

The implementation of the development plan is the responsibility of the district office.

"We just have to lay the foundations for that."

Appeal for bike parking spaces

Provisions on the subject of bicycles are also to be included.

Second Mayor Astrid Güldner (Greens), who represented Manfred Burger on the committee, had warned not only to think about cars.

With e-bikes, bicycles and cargo bikes, bicycle traffic will increase.

Accordingly, bicycle parking spaces should be taken into account.
