Brad Pitt dares with everything: actor, sculptor and, now, owner of a cosmetic brand

2022-09-22T12:33:01.488Z

The Hollywood star launches Le Domaine, a personal care line with products for both genders created with ingredients that come from her vineyards in France

Brad Pitt unites two of his greatest pleasures in life in the same product: wine and skin care.

The actor announced this Wednesday the launch of his cosmetic line for neutral skin, Le Domaine, in an interview in

Vogue magazine

.

He thus joins the long list of celebrities who have launched their own brands in recent years (Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Harry Styles...).

However, the range of products patented by the Hollywood star has something that makes it special: its origins are in the grapes grown in the Château Beaucastel, a vineyard that he owns in France and from which he exports rosé wines.

"Le Domaine is not intended to be a celebrity brand," Pitt explained in a press release.

“It is a range of anti-aging cosmetics for men and women.

I love the idea of it being a genderless line,” he adds.

What he has made clear is that he does not present the typical Hollywood-centric brand.

Its products will be focused on both genders, without distinction, but with the intention of being subtle.

“You have to be as inclusive as possible.

Men need more help to learn how to treat our skin, which is why we have sought a very neutral, very fresh and very subtle scent”.

In addition, he has highlighted that it is a sustainable line, which uses refillable bottles with lids made from wine barrels, as he pointed out in the interview in which he has made known his new facet as an entrepreneur in the cosmetics industry.

Brad Pitt accuses Angelina Jolie of purposely damaging the reputation of his winery in France

She is not the first celebrity (nor will she be the last) to launch a beauty line.

There are dozens of celebrities who have put their name or face on brands.

There are those who simply put the image and those who taste the ingredients or go to the laboratory to check the production process.

Harry Styles launched a gender-neutral product series called Pleasing in November;

Haily Bieber, premiered Rhode Skin in June 2022;

Rihanna did her thing with the successful Fenty Beauty brand;

or Selena Gomez with Rare Beauty.

And of course, don't forget about Kim Kardashian and her sister Kylie Jenner, who expanded their skincare and cosmetics brand in 2019.

In this case, and unlike the rest of the

celebrities,

Pitt has decided not to take the lead as the “face” of Le Domaine: there will be no promotional campaigns with his face, nor interviews to sell the products.

The actor himself recognizes in

Vogue

that the beauty industry is "saturated", but that during the process of creating her brand's products she has noticed "differences" in her skin thanks to the antioxidant benefits of grapes.

And it is that his vineyard is a multimillion-dollar business that exports rosé wine to the whole world, in which nothing of the harvest is wasted: “Everything that is left over or is discarded becomes food for something else.

This circular system is the inspiration for Le Domaine.”

The new products range from $80 to $385 and can now be purchased on their website.

The truth is that Pitt has a special affection for the wine estate and the products that come out of it.

In 2008, he acquired the majority ownership of the place with his then-wife Angelina Jolie, and this was the place where they said "I do" in 2014. Since their separation in 2016, the ex-partner has been embarked on a continuous fight for the ground.

In July 2021, the actress accused him of blocking the sale of Château Miraval and in February 2022, Pitt denounced Jolie for having sold his part of the estate without prior notice to the Russian businessman Yuri Shefler, despite the fact that they agreed not to sell. actions without the permission of the other.

This has been a news week for the actor.

Last Monday, he announced his participation in a Finnish exhibition where he contributed nine works.

Pitt began working on the sculptures after his divorce from the actress, with whom he has six children together and a legal battle still open for custody of her.

“For me it's about self-reflection.

It is about where I went wrong in my relationships, where I am an accomplice, ”he acknowledged during the inauguration.

"For me, it was born out of owning what I call a 'radical self-inventory,' being really brutally honest with myself and taking into account those I may have hurt and the times I was wrong."
