This evening, the cinema house screened a movie entitled Rear Window, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, adapted from a short story by Cornell Wallrich and produced in 1957.
The film presents, in 112 minutes, the story of a man who works as a photographer and has a broken leg, forcing him to spend his time at home watching the details of his neighbors' diaries through the window of his house. This crime with the dramatic escalation between doubt and certainty until the end of the film and prove the point of view of the hero of the film.
Regarding the selection of the film, director Rami Nidal, one of the supervisors of the Cinema House project, said in a statement to SANA: We are always keen to present various shows to the audience, so it was necessary to show films from the classics of world cinema, and this film by Hitchcock is an example of his style as a director in addition to being a turning point in his cinematic career Which includes 57 films, all of which belong to crime cinema.
Nidal pointed out that the peculiarity of the rear window lies in the fact that it is pictures in one place that posed a challenge to the director in escaping from boredom, repetition and repetition with his belonging to the golden period of Hollywood cinema, and considering it a challenge in trying to deviate from the style of classic films at that stage, indicating that it is necessary to show more Hitchcock films in The coming period to monitor the transformations that occurred in his experience.
The film, starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Gig Young and others, was followed by a discussion between the project supervisors with a number of attendees interested in cinema.
It is noteworthy that the Cinema House is a project launched by the General Film Organization two years ago, and it shows bi-monthly at the Kennedy Cinemas in Damascus.
