Berlin – The climate policy of the traffic light under Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has been criticized.
Climate activists in Germany complain that politicians are making insufficient efforts to protect the global climate.
In an interview with the
German reaction
network, the mouthpiece of the climate movement, Luisa Neubauer, has now mainly dealt out against Olaf Scholz.
Demonstrations are planned nationwide for September 23, which, in addition to climate protection, should also address the question of social security, according to Neubauer.
Dissatisfaction with traffic lights is high in the movement.
The climate activists once again criticized the Scholz cabinet.

She has doubts, especially when it comes to setting priorities: “Overall, the government is not doing justice to the challenges.
Above all, we are shocked that the coalition climate is always more important than the world climate.
That you always think you can make compromises, with physics and with reality," says Neubauer.
A study by the non-profit organization CDP recently showed that no large industrialized country has managed to achieve the Paris climate target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.
Criticism of Olaf Scholz: planned protests and the attempt to link social protests and the climate movement
Olaf Scholz and the traffic light coalition have received sharp criticism for their climate policy from the climate movement.
But there is also resentment with regard to the social question: the relief package 3 does not go far enough for many.
For the poorest in particular, the relief is mostly a drop in the ocean.
The poverty researcher Christoph Butterwegge had recently complained to

about an imbalance in the relief measures.
Neubauer fears a split between social protests and the climate movement and would like to deal with both issues more together again.
"We will bring together the issues of social security and climate protection," said the activist to the

About a split, she says: "One of the greatest successes of those who have no interest in climate protection or social justice was to play these two goals off against each other".
Protests have been announced for Friday, September 23rd, 2022 in a total of 250 German cities: They will probably go to court with Olaf Scholz and the traffic lights with regard to social and climate issues.
Despite the young movement around Fridays for Future, demonstrators of all ages will take part in the actions again this time - the concerns are great.
