Landsberg – A good starting position and an offensive and self-confident driving style should pay off.

It has too.

Dennis Biederer from Landsberg once again finished on the podium at the Kufsteinerland Cycle Marathon.

The 29-year-old pilot of the Fischen-based Impuls cycling team secured third place in a sprint decision.

In a row with the favorites of the day, Biederer and his teammates Florian Christ (Sindelsdorf) and Tim Öttl (Weilheim) started the bike marathon in optimal weather conditions, covering 120 kilometers and 1,800 meters in altitude.

Even the first ascent into the natural Thierseetal showed: Today is a real race!

"The pace was very high right from the start, the driving style was nervous at times," reports Biederer.

With a group of about 30 men, he was able to break away.

After a short recovery phase to the Reintaler lakes, the 3.5-kilometer climb to Brandenberg followed.

For the Lechstadt native, the tactic was clear: "It's better to die in front than inherit nothing behind".

With an eye and good legs, he was able to hold the rear wheels of the favorites and set the pace thanks to his impressive form.

How good Biederer's form really was was shown at the end of the 400 meter climb in this section.

Once at the top, there were only six riders left with him, who harmonized well for the rest of the race and were able to work out a certain lead over the chasing group.

The last climbs were then to Angerberg and on the other side of the Inn back to Kufstein, where a technically demanding finale awaited the drivers.

Again, Biederer was able to score with his excellent driving technique, which gave him a good starting position for the final sprint on the last few meters to the finish line.

In the end it was enough for 3rd place behind two Austrian Bundesliga drivers.

“Dennis has been able to show clearly what level he is at;

he rewarded himself and the team with a place on the podium,” says Impuls team boss Martin Wilhelm.

In a brilliant final sprint from the first chasing group, Florian Christ secured 7th place.

He has shown that his legs not only turn well on the mountain, but that he is also a fast-moving man.

"Flo has developed splendidly in our ranks this year and was once again able to close his personal season with a strong placement," said Wilhelm.

Tim Öttl finished 35th.

After a very successful weekend in Kufstein, the Impuls cycling team is particularly happy about the fall-free result.

In addition to the tense driving style of many starters, the barrier conditions that were sometimes not ideal made the race dangerous.

For example, a camera motorcycle and co-favorite Patrick Hagenaars brought down.
